Psychotherapy with horses, in the heart of the Curragh
Welcome to The Curragh Practice.
As the Curragh’s only equine-assisted psychotherapy practice, we provide an evidence-informed approach that offers a different space to work through what’s hard to carry alone. We provide specialist therapy sessions with our horses to help with anxiety, trauma, grief, and more.
Sessions take place outdoors, alongside the horses, with a mental health professional and an equine specialist. All work is on the ground - no riding or horse experience is needed.
Healing doesn’t always happen across a room. Sometimes it helps to approach things differently.
Lessons from the herd
Be Present
Horses live in the moment. Spending time with them invites you to slow down and experience the here and now - a space where emotions can surface without needing to explain or justify them.
Find Your Fit
Within a herd, each horse has a role, and that role shifts as the group’s needs change. Being alongside them invites you to explore your own relationships, your sense of belonging, and how your place can evolve.
Your Inner Mirror
Horses respond to more than words - they notice how you move, approach and connect. These interactions can offer a fresh perspective on familiar patterns, helping you find a steadier, more honest place to grow from.
